London based artificial intelligence voice company ElevenLabs launched its office in Singapore on Thursday as its South-East Asia hub, referring to the country as one of most linguistically diverse, mobile-first populations on earth.
According to a statement from ElevenLabs, the company is already investing in Singapore through their data residency program, giving enterprises local hosting, zero-retention options and lower latency across the country and East Asia. Through the ElevenLabs Singapore office, the company wishes to expand its base in SE Asia.
“What matters for people and businesses here is AI that’s built and refined for their country, their languages, and their context. We’re expanding our local team to work side by side with customers to build AI that feels natural in every part of the region,” said Mati Staniszewski, cofounder and CEO of ElevenLabs.
Meanwhile, ElevenLabs is also planning to invest hundreds of millions of dollars in India as it expands its local operations, develops AI models and strengthens its capabilities for Indian languages.
According to media reports, the company has not disclosed the exact amount of the planned investment. As part of its India expansion, ElevenLabs plans to build a local team of around 100 employees. The investment will support AI model development, Indian language capabilities and other local operations.
The company currently works with around 250 enterprises in the region. Its AI agents are also handling more than 100 million conversations annually across 14 Indian languages.
ElevenLabs has also entered into a partnership with the Karnataka government to explore the responsible use of voice AI for citizen services and social impact.
The initiative is part of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society (KITS) and ElevenLabs. The partnership is based on three ideas. These are building a Voice AI safety framework, using AI for voice restoration for people who have lost the ability to speak and making government services more accessible through voice AI.
At the ElevenLabs Summit in Bengaluru, we signed our first MOU with an Indian state government to pilot voice AI.
Over 70% of the 100M+ ElevenAgents conversations in India over the past year were in Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu.
Voice AI in India is multilingual, and the Summit brought together 500+ enterprise leaders, builders, and partners who are building for this future.

As part of the safety framework, Karnataka and ElevenLabs will develop a platform-agnostic voice AI safety model for the state. It will examine safeguards around deepfake detection, audio provenance and watermarking, consent for voice cloning and protection against voice fraud and impersonation. The collaboration will also include capacity building for government officials.
India and Singapore remain two of the biggest markets for the London based company outside the United States. Earlier this year ElevenLabs announced plans to open an office in Bengaluru as part of its international expansion, with locally embedded go-to -market teams aimed at boosting enterprise adoption.
