Goldman Sachs has launched the Small Business AI Institute in partnership with OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and Meta to help entrepreneurs across the US adopt artificial intelligence (AI), as part of a new $500 million commitment to support another 10,000 small businesses.
Today, we are proud to announce the launch of the Goldman Sachs Small Business AI Institute as part of a $500 million commitment to support small business growth in the era of AI.
Building on 16 years of @GS10KSmallBiz, the Institute will partner with leading AI companies—Anthropic, Google, Meta, and OpenAI—to provide small business owners across America with training, tools, and support. We will also extend the reach of 10,000 Small Businesses to another 10,000 businesses nationwide: https://t.co/MeLuYyllRA

As part of the initiative, the Institute will develop a learning series with Anthropic on applied AI for small businesses, organize hands-on workshops for Goldman Sachs’ ‘10,000 Small Businesses’ alumni, and collaborate on research into small business AI use.
In addition, the Institute will work with Google to deliver its ‘Grow with Google AI Professional Certificate’ to almost 20,000 small business owners and their employees, including three months of no-cost access to Google AI Pro.
Meta will collaborate with the Institute to help entrepreneurs access AI tools and training through Muse for Small Business. The Institute is also partnering with OpenAI to deliver tailored AI workshops across the country through the programme’s community college partners
“We believe AI will create the greatest boom in entrepreneurship and small businesses that the world has ever seen,” said Sam Altman, co-founder and CEO of OpenAI.
Ruth Porat, president and chief investment officer of Alphabet and Google, said the partnership would put practical tools and training into the hands of nearly 20,000 entrepreneurs to help them prepare for the future.
According to Goldman Sachs, the Institute will focus on three key pillars: delivering high-quality AI education to small business owners across the country, publishing research on AI use by small businesses, and supporting AI-enabled expansion of access to capital for small businesses.
Dina Powell McCormick, president and vice chairman of Meta, said the company was pleased to join the Institute and continue bringing the benefits of superintelligence to small business owners.
“AI is the first technology that can finally close that gap, and Anthropic is committed to making sure those gains reach startups and family businesses, not just large enterprises,” said Daniela Amodei, co-founder and president of Anthropic.
