The Andhra Pradesh High Court has made the use of Adalat AI mandatory across the state’s district judiciary from October 1, 2026, covering 733 courtrooms across all 13 judicial districts.
The mandate, announced on July 27, includes live transcription, case-flow management and courtroom workflows.
The rollout follows nearly two years of pilots and training. Adalat AI began testing its platform in Andhra Pradesh in 2024 with six judicial officers. A structured pilot involving courts in Chittoor, East Godavari, Guntur and Srikakulam began in November 2025.
In July, Adalat AI introduced a new English model, Mynah-en, to a group of power users, including 18 judicial officers in Andhra Pradesh. A faster Telugu model was also deployed in July.
More than 600 judicial officers attended an online orientation on July 31, with further online and in-person training sessions scheduled through August and September.
The High Court has also nominated 26 judicial officers to undergo advanced training as Master Trainers for the Adalat AI platform. The two-day programme is scheduled for September 5 and 6 at the Andhra Pradesh Judicial Academy in Kaza, Mangalagiri.
Andhra Pradesh becomes the third Indian state to move toward full-scale, mandatory statewide adoption of Adalat AI, following Kerala and Sikkim.
The legal-tech non-profit Adalat AI’s platform includes courtroom speech recognition, case management, paperless court systems and a WhatsApp interface for litigants, designed for low-resource settings with patchy internet, overloaded staff and multiple languages.
Separately, Adalat AI has been selected for Y Combinator’s F26 batch. In a post on X, the organization said Y Combinator made an exception for it because “justice delayed is justice denied.”
With Y Combinator’s backing, Adalat AI said it plans to expand its work across India and the Global South.
