The Trump administration has launched “Gold Eagle,” a cybersecurity vulnerability coordination clearinghouse designed to support U.S. artificial intelligence (AI) innovation by improving the identification, sharing, and response to cybersecurity vulnerabilities across government and industry.
The initiative brings together federal agencies, private companies, and open-source software developers to enable faster vulnerability detection, information sharing, and coordinated responses to cyber threats.
The White House, the Department of the Treasury (Treasury), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) through the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), and the Department of War (DOW) have worked with industry partners to enable faster exploit detection and develop a rapid, prioritized response to cyber vulnerabilities across U.S. critical infrastructure sectors, the White House said.
According to the White House, Gold Eagle was established under President Donald Trump’s June 2 executive order, “Promoting Advanced Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Security,” and represents a new operational model for cyber defense. The administration said it will leverage frontier AI capabilities to improve exploit detection and deliver prioritized threat intelligence and remediation guidance to federal agencies and private-sector organizations.
“Treasury, along with our partner agencies, will continue to harness frontier AI capabilities to stay ahead of our adversaries and defend the American people from emerging threats,” said Scott Bessent, Secretary of the Treasury.
The development reflects growing concern within Washington that advances in AI are dramatically changing the cybersecurity landscape.
The White House said Gold Eagle will serve as a force multiplier, enabling government and industry to collectively identify risks, prioritize action, and strengthen the resilience of systems that power the U.S. economy, national security, and daily life.
According to the administration, the programme has already begun receiving and prioritizing cybersecurity vulnerabilities identified across industries and sectors, coordinating vulnerability verification, and supporting efforts to secure the nation’s software and networks.
“President Trump’s commonsense, pro-growth policies have unleashed America’s private sector to lead the world in AI and cybersecurity innovation, and this Administration is doing everything in its power to keep it that way,” said Sean Cairncross, National Cyber Director. He added that the initiative would help “cement American AI dominance for generations to come.”
