U.S. President Donald Trump has included former Attorney General Pam Bondi in the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI) policy.

Bondi’s appointment in the PCAST comes barely a month after President Trump fired her from the attorney-general post in April, 2026, allegedly over her failure to pursue his political rivals’ cases “aggressively” and her handling of the infamous Epstein files. Bondi is scheduled to testify behind closed doors before the House Oversight Committee on May 29 regarding the Jeffrey Epstein files.

Confirming Bondi’s appointment, David Sacks, the co-chair of PCAST, said that her role would be to advise President Trump on “legal and regulatory barriers related to AI.”

“President Trump understands that unnecessary regulation is the biggest threat to innovation in America. Winning the AI race means not only beating China but also clearing bureaucratic hurdles thrown up by state legislatures and woke politicians in DC. No one is better positioned to support PCAST in this mission and to advise the President on legal and regulatory barriers than Pam Bondi. Excited to have her on board!,” wrote Sacks on his official X account on Wednesday.

PCAST, a longstanding federal advisory committee, was re-chartered by President Trump in 2025 to include 24 members who come from academia, industry, and government. It is co-chaired by David Sacks, former White House AI advisor and Michael Kratsios, former White House Science advisor.

Bondi will now join the likes of Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, NVIDIA co-founder Jensen Huang, Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison in the PCAST.

While there has been no official confirmation of Bondi’s inclusion in the PCAST, according to media reports, Bondi is expected to act as a bridge between AI companies and the White House when it comes to policy related regulations. Bondi was appointed as 47th Attorney General in 2025, however, her tenure was marred with controversies, especially the manner in which Epstein Files were handled by the Department of Justice, under her tenure. She was lately diagnosed with thyroid cancer.
