India Backs 20 Indigenous AI Models, Approves 58 Centres of Excellence: IT Ministry

India supports 20 sovereign AI models and has approved 58 AI Centres of Excellence under the IndiaAI Mission, MoS Jitin Prasada told the Rajya Sabha.

The Indian government currently supports 20 indigenous AI models, 12 LLMs and 8 SLMs and has approved 58 AI Centres of Excellence across states and union territories, MoS for Electronics and IT Jitin Prasada informed the Rajya Sabha on July 24.
