Opening the inaugural Global Dialogue on AI Governance in Geneva, Secretary-General António Guterres put children at the centre of the answer — demanding that AI companies prove their systems are safe before a single child can access them, and warning that “the algorithm did it” can never be an acceptable answer when a child is harmed.
