“Do Not Become An Artificial Lawyer”: Judges Come Down Hard on AI in Courts

Judges across the world have warned lawyers against the use of generative artificial intelligence while presenting legal evidence in court.

Judges from India and other countries have warned lawyers not to depend blindly on Artificial Intelligence tools like ChatGPT while writing pleadings or preparing arguments for court. They said that while these tools can be helpful, lawyers must carefully check and verify any information generated by AI before using it in legal documents or presenting it in court.
