NVIDIA and Mistral AI have joined hands to work together to create cutting-edge AI solutions with the ability to transofrm engineering design, modeling, and product development forever. In order to achieve it, Mistral AI will apply its AI modeling and physics simulation knowledge to NVIDIA’s new computing technology, thus making difficult engineering processes efficient and quick.

In their partnership, Mistral will apply its large AI model, while NVIDIA representatives will work with CUDA-X libraries and NVIDIA Warp to streamline engineering modeling processes and link the obtained simulation results with AI modeling and computing processes.

“Combining Mistral Large 4, with Mistral’s data generation, and physics modeling pipelines, accelerated by NVIDIA CUDA-X libraries and NVIDIA Warp, the initiative aims to accelerate engineering simulation and enable closed-loop workflows that connect simulation, AI model development and engineering design. Mistral and NVIDIA will also work together to integrate Mistral’s models with NVIDIA Omniverse libraries for GPU-accelerated 3D scene generation and SimReady asset creation,” read a statement from Mistral AI.

NVIDIA will also devote a considerable portion of this collaboration to integrating Mistral AI models with NVIDIA Omniverse libraries so that utilizing 3D simulated objects or computer-aided design processes becomes easy.

The companies will largely focus on creating publicly available benchmarking systems and datasets that will identify physics-based AI models for various industries and academic research sectors.

NVIDIA and Mistral intend to create specific benchmarks for agentic AI in computer-aided engineering (CAE) as well as electronic design automation (EDA). Their assessments will measure how well AI agents employ engineering instruments and perform complicated actions with engineering devices and solutions, as well as how long it takes and costs them to do it.

The technologies mentioned in the article aim to help industries like aerospace, automotive and semiconductor, where advanced computer simulations are widely used in product development.

Cooperation between the two companies is possible because they are already collaborating in the field of open AI systems and infrastructures. Recently, Mistral has launched Mistral Large 4 public preview, a multimodal system that has about a trillion parameters.

The goal of the partnership is to offer effective evaluation criteria for engineering AI and enable businesses to create their products at a higher speed with the help of advanced simulations and AI technologies that automate workflows and enhance designs.
