The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will leverage artificial intelligence (AI) to detect, prevent and manage risks related to abuse of power and misappropriation.
The exchange of the MoU between MCMC chairman Tan Sri Mohamad Salim Fateh Din and MACC Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman took place at MCMC headquarters on Friday.
Under the agreement, MCMC and MACC will strengthen cooperation in enforcement, corruption prevention and integrity through a more coordinated approach by sharing expertise in enforcement, investigation, digital technology, information management and corruption prevention, MCMC said in a statement.
The collaboration will also cover best practices in governance, integrity and risk management.
Both agencies will expand cooperation on knowledge and skills development through advocacy programmes, training, knowledge sharing and capacity building, while leveraging technologies including AI, MCMC said. “Related initiatives can be extended to the industry and relevant stakeholders,” it said.
The collaboration is aimed at strengthening the agencies’ preparedness to address increasingly complex corruption and misconduct risks, while supporting accountability and effective public service delivery.
