The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) has launched an e-Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. According to the institute, the programme is being offered by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), IIT Bombay.
The ePGD course is designed for software developers, engineers, IT professionals and data scientists, as well as fresh graduates with a basic understanding of computer science. The programme will be delivered by IIT Bombay faculty, with Great Learning as the EdTech partner.
The programme combines core computer science concepts with developments in AI and machine learning and includes synchronous and asynchronous online learning, along with in-person components at IIT Bombay.
The e-PGD requires 36 credits across two baskets: Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and Computer Science.
The AI and Machine Learning basket includes Foundational Mathematics for Data Science, Foundations of Computer Vision, Reinforcement Learning, Generative AI: From Foundations to Autonomous Agents, and Natural Language Processing and Generative AI. The 12-month programme’s new term starts on August 31, 2026.
IIT Bombay’s programme comes as other IITs continue to expand AI-focused learning offerings.
In April 2026, IIT Madras-led SWAYAM Plus launched three beginner-friendly AI courses – AI for Aspiring Engineers, AI for Administrators and Prompt Engineering – in partnership with IITM Pravartak under the ‘AI for All’ campaign.
IIT Delhi also announced the eighth batch of its Advanced Certificate Programme in AI, Machine Learning and Deep Learning in March 2026.
