Advanced Machine Intelligence (AMI) Labs, the Paris-based AI research company co-founded by Yann LeCun and Pascale Fung, is hiring AI model safety researchers as it develops world models designed to understand and reason about the real world.
AMI Labs, co-founded by Yann LeCun, former Meta chief scientist and Pascale Fung, prominent AI researcher and Chair Professor at HKUST, in December 2025, is focused on developing world models, a machine learning system that understands the real world like objects and people within a video, which predictive LLMs cannot.
Recently, the AMI Labs received $1.03 billion in funding.
Its co-founder and chief research & innovation officer Pascale Fung took to X on Friday to announce that AMI Labs is looking for scholars to join their team.
“I am looking to hire PhD students, post-docs, and ML researchers in our Paris office interested in collaborating on fundamental research in AI model safety, not safety rules, not AI policy, not post hoc guardrails, not RLHF. We also have offices in Singapore, NYC, and Montreal,” wrote Pascal on X.

The job listing at AMI Labs currently shows seven other vacancies apart from AI safety researcher at Paris, New York, Montreal and Singapore offices of the lab.
According to AMI Labs, their main goal is to build “intelligent systems” that understand the real world. The ‘world model’ being developed by AMI will learn abstract representations of real-world sensor data Action-conditioned world models allow agentic systems to predict the consequences of their actions, and to plan action sequences to accomplish a task, subject to safety guardrails.
AMI labs scientists believe that video is a rich and abundant source of data reflecting how the world works and world models should be able to understand context about current state of physical world, make predictions and plan and adapt sequences of actions to complete complex task.
AMI Labs is intended to remain as a research organization and will not scale any product for the first five years of its inception.
