Samsung Electronics has announced the deployment of ChatGPT Enterprise and Codex across its workforce in one of the largest enterprise deployments of OpenAI technology to date.

Under the agreement, ChatGPT and Codex will be available to all Samsung Electronics employees in Korea and employees globally in its Device eXperience (DX) division.

The move is aimed at supporting AI use across a broad range of business functions, including research and development, manufacturing, marketing, product design, software engineering and corporate operations.

Samsung intends to roll out ChatGPT Enterprise across a broad set of knowledge work. The system will be available for employees to search for information, draft documents, analyze data, brainstorm and support decision making.

OpenAI said Codex, which began as a software development tool, is increasingly being used for a wider range of work. Employees can use the tool to create software, internal tools, websites, and automated workflows.

OpenAI said more than 5 million people now use Codex every week, while weekly active users in Korea have grown nearly 800% since February 1, 2026.

Samsung plans to use ChatGPT and Codex for both technical and non-technical work across multiple business functions, according to OpenAI.

The rollout also expands Samsung’s relationship with OpenAI beyond AI infrastructure, where the two companies have previously collaborated on advanced memory technologies for next-generation AI systems.
