Alibaba group and Pakistan government signed multiple memorandum of understanding (MoU) and agreements this week that were drafted on the spot using Qwen AI model, during Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s official China visit.
According to a news report by South China Morning Post (SCMP), a media group owned by Alibaba, PM Sharif was in Hangzhou province of China on May 24 to interact with Alibaba Chairman Joe Tsai. During the meet, Sharif demanded a comprehensive strategic agreement between Alibaba and the Pakistan government “right now.”
“Tsai, who was trained at Yale Law School and qualified to practise law in the United States, decided to draft by himself, with the help of Qwen, the firm’s AI app powered by Alibaba’s in-house foundation models,” read the report in SCMP.
Tsai then drafted the preamble of the agreement between the Pakistan government and Alibaba, keeping in consideration the “iron brother alliance” and “belt and road initiative” between China and Pakistan.
Sharif was on an official state visit to China wherein he met President Xi Jinping in Beijing.
