AI Impact Summit 2026: Adani commits $100B for Sovereign AI

Day 2 of AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi saw the Adani Group of Companies committing $100 Billion investment to build “green energy” powered AI ready data centers in the next 10- years, as part of their bid to contribute to “sovereign AI” infrastructure in India.

As per a statement released by Adani Group, one of India’s largest conglomerates, the group has set a target of 2035 to commit $100 Billion to data centers and additional $150 Billion across server manufacturing, advanced electrical infrastructure, sovereign cloud platforms and supporting industries.

The five day AI Impact Summit being held in New Delhi will see the likes of India PM Narendra Modi, French president Emmanuel Macron, OpenAI’s Sam Altman, Bill Gates and other stalwarts of the AI industry come together for a global south AI dialogue.

“This initiative will be a long term sovereign energy and compute platform designed to position India as a global leader in the emerging intelligence revolution,” said Adani Group in a statement released to the media.

India’s IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, in a press conference on Tuesday at the AI Summit, claimed that the five day summit will culminate into investments above $200 billion.

“In the next two years, global investments of more than 200 billion US dollars are expected across the five layers of the AI stack. The response is phenomenal. India’s strong digital public infrastructure will play a key role in supporting the growth of AI in the future. Government will launch AI Mission 2.0 focusing on R&D, innovation and AI diffusion,” said Vaishnaw.

Government is ordering another 20,000 GPOs next week and they will be deployed in next 6 months. So it is constant Endeavour to provide high quality good resources for startups, researchers and students.

“We are making technology accessible to the entire section of people, ” said Union Minister Ashwani Vaishnav.
