What happens when two of the most advanced technologies of our time- Quantum Computing and Artificial Intelligence-intersect? The result is Quantum AI, an emerging field that explores how quantum technology enhances AI capabilities.

Quantum AI is the fusion of quantum tech into AI to solve the data bottleneck problem of classical AI. Under Quantum AI, the Quantum Machine Learning (QML) uses algorithms to process and analyse vast amounts of complex data as well as detect patterns in them and generate solutions that might not have been visible to a classical computer.

While classical computers carry their compute operations on bits, quantum computers work with qubits, which work on the principles of quantum mechanics. These qubits, through superposition and entanglements, allow quantum computers to perform calculations simultaneously while classical computers can only process information sequentially, making them exponentially faster.

Although still largely experimental, Quantum AI has applications in medical science, finance, health care among others. From helping scientists simulate complex protein structures and accelerate drug discovery to detecting fraud in stock markets to carrying out optimization tasks, we can expect hybrid implementation of Quantum AI in several sectors.
